INDAUSPAC WATCH

Links to information that is relevant to the analysis of Indauspac

Last updated: 18 May 2012

Chamber during the early and mid 1990s formed the present four ACCCI Policy Committees covering Trade and Investment, Commerce and Industry. Public Affairs and Media, and Cultural and Sport. This was approached in the context of the Chamber's thinking/strategy on China's Key Cities initiated in the mid/late 1980s and implemented post 1989.

A detailed reading of the Chamber Website will indicate that we have consistently followed these themes in Australia China Economic Relations, whether during the 90s basically bilaterally or since the PRC entry into the WTO in late 2001 with global perspectives.

The early 2009 launch of Indauspac Strategy and Indauspac Watch was simply an Australia-centric refinement of this global focus and a recognition of the post GFC multi-polar world. The first three Observations columns tried to explain our thinking and perspectives.

Indauspac Strategy has focused on Public Policy issues with emphasis on economic, political, military and strategic issues whereas Indauspac Watch is concerned with Private Civil matters in the social, cultural, commercial and historical areas.

In both cases our main sources are from global institutions as well as country/provincial/city government publications and authoritative media, think-tank and academic commentary. The purpose has always been to assist the ACCCI Policy Committees evaluate the evolving Australia China Relationship and particularly Australian Government Policy options at Global, Federal, State and Municipal levels. In turn ACCCI Special Projects are derived from this policy work.

The G20 Monitor on the ACCCI Website provides an important framework for Indauspac. Similarly with the other three Monitors of academic writings - Foreign Policy, Political System and Legal System.
